I have to say that my Greddys were damn hot on the dyno, even when I sprayed them with water and let them cool between runs, while Henry's (single Supra) FMIC sure was nice and cool to the touch on the core (especially at the outlet) even when doing back to back runs. As far as whether the FMIC will interfere with airflow to the radiator, a fellow Texan (you may have seen the car - gray 90 TT, Border FMIC, MANY mods, at the first CZOT show in Round Rock in '99?) has convinced me that the setup I want has not resulted in the car running hot per his Techtom. Works for me. Your conjecture is that the power gained through better cooling will be lost in efficiency? Or what? We will see when I dyno with my current setup, and then dyno again with the FMIC. In all likelihood, side mounts and 555s are certainly fine for what the original poster is looking to accomplish, indeed.
